Hazel D Bartley

Hazel D. Bartley age 80 of Albion passed away peacefully at home under the loving care of her family and Elara Caring Hospice. She was born July 30, 1941, in Penny, Kentucky the daughter of Andy and Jettie (Damron) Bartley.

On December 24, 1959, Hazel was united in marriage to Merlin Bartley in Long Fork, KY and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2017.

She was a member of the Fellowship Bible Church, the wife of a deacon and very active in the church community. She was employed with Eaton Corporation until her retirement in the early 2000’s.

She was a loving Mother to Tony (Becky) Bartley. The Grandmother of Ryan (Heather) Nail, Kayla Nicholson, Erin Nicholson, and Alex Nicholson. The Great-Grandmother of Travis & Jackson. All surviving.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Bertha and Cecil Bartley, sisters and brothers-in-law, Glenna (Malvery) Tackett and Katie (Sterling) Bartley, brother and sister-in-law, Tex (Brenda) Bartley, brother-in-law, Renny Strohmenger and niece, Diana Higdon.

Survivors include her sister, Dotty Strohmenger, brother-in-law, Vernon (Ollie Jean) Bartley, nieces and nephews: Starr (Mike) Shreeves, Susan (Rick) Gilbert, Kim Cook, Randy (Amanda) Bartley, Sheri (Shane) Stone, Drew (Jacque) Strohmenger and many great nieces, great nephews, cousins and extended family.

The family would like to especially acknowledge niece, Susan & Alexa Gilbert for the extra care given to Hazel over the last few years.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00pm at the

J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, Michigan 49224. Funeral Service

will be Wednesday, July 27 at 1:00pm at the funeral home with visitation starting at Noon prior to the service with Pastor Earl Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Albion Memory Gardens.
