Liz took her title as "World's Best Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother" to heart and she loved every minute of it. She never missed an event. From cheering on the sidelines to creating beautiful decorations to celebrate her family. She loved her cats and horses. Birdhouses were her favorite with 30 birdhouses in a single tree in her backyard. Her favorite animal, frogs, are also found all over the place. Memories were important to Liz. She captured every single moment she could with photos. Taking care of her family was always her number one priority, and everyone she met she cared for like family.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin Bates, who she met in 1992 and married August 26, 1995. Her children, Wendy (Dwayne) Cornish of Charlotte, MI, Joseph (Teresa) Hagerman of Albion, MI, Leslie (Sherman) Price of Bronson, MI, Tracy (Rob) VanHove of St. Claire Shores, MI, Mallisa (Rick) Cunha of Vader, WA, Calvin Bates, Jr. of Toledo, WA; sisters, Debra (Richard) Koskey of Houston, TX, Sherill (Jeff) Swanson of Mountain Iron, MN.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Franklin and Ruth Dutton; son, George "Doug" (Melissa) Hagerman, Jr.; brother, Frank (Trish) Dutton, Jr.; and son-in-law, Edwin Hansen, Jr.
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr, Albion, Michigan 49224. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 811 Finley Dr, Albion, Michigan 49224. An interment will occur Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Albion Memory Gardens, 26905 B Drive South, Albion, Michigan 49224.
