Elaine Mabelle Schultz, age 92 of Albion, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 16, 2013. She had resided at Spring Arbor Assisted Living since November, but had lived in Albion all her life. Born on November 21, 1920. Elaine attended Albion Public Schools, graduating high school in 1938. She was class secretary and active as a reunion organizer. She worked at Union Steel Products and retired from The Federal Land Bank.
On February 5, 1943, she married Richard Paul Schultz who preceded her in death on August 22, 1995. Elaine was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and always supported her children’s and grandchildren’s activities through the years.
Elaine is survived by: daughter, Cheryl (Frederick) Engle, sons, Philip (Rita) Schultz and Frederick (Kathy) Schultz, 10 grandchildren, Elissa Engle Green, Jason Engle, Ann Engle Metts, Abbigail Schultz Tumpey, Benjamin Schultz, Arlette Shelton, Cassandra Holmes, Katherine Schultz, Karly Schultz Melkonian, Erin Schultz, 11 great grandchildren, Margaret Green, Zachary Green, Jonah, Jadon and Alena Engle, Tabitha, Sarina and Wallis Metts, Blake and Pierce Tumpey and Cody Shelton. Also surviving are one brother, James N. Young and brother-in-law, Robert Schultz along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all her caregivers at Southern Care Hospice and Spring Arbor Assisted Living.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M on Monday, May 20, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Blvd., Albion, with Rev. Dennis W. Matays officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 19, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr., Albion and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the St. Paul Luthern Church. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
