Charles "Chuck" Edward Merritt Jr.

Charles Edward Merritt, Jr., born October 2, 1976, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Chuck graduated from Springport High School and was a long-time resident of Springport. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.

He was a man of great faith and loved helping others find their way as well. Chuck loved with his whole heart and would help anyone in need at any time. He loved dirt track racing, tinkering with car parts in the garage, and collecting full-size cars and Hot Wheels. He especially enjoyed loving and caring for his family, most of all his pride and joy, Cassie.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Amy, of 15 years, his daughter Cassie, mother Suzi (Gordon) Philp of Springport, grandmother Thelma Marie Hoag of Springport, sister Carisa (Casey) Rawson of Olivet, sister Maranda Ledvina of Springport, in-laws Martin (Bobbye) Woodworth of Jackson, brother-in-law Bill Woodworth of Jackson; nephews Jude and Jase Rawson and Collin Woodworth; and nieces Vaidabel Rawson and Kelsey Woodworth. He is preceded in death by his father, Charles (Spike) Merritt Sr., grandfather William F. Hoag Sr., and grandparents, Kime and Edith Merritt.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 28th, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Dr. Albion, MI. Services will take place on Saturday October, 28th, 2022 also at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, Visitation/Family Hour beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Clarence Center Cemetery.
