Ray Osborne Gines

Ray was born January 11, 1925 in Evansville, IN. His parents were Francis William and Lucy Glen (Whitworth) Gines. He married Noreen Garwood November 11, 2014 at the CLC Unit at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion, IL.

He was a great mechanic and worked at the Chevrolet garage and served in the U. S. Marine Corp. during WWII. He was a Lifetime member of the American Legion 590, DAV and VFW. He was an easy going person. He loved to be outdoors, liked to garden and loved life.

He is survived by his wife; Noreen of Browns, IL, a daughter; Mary Rae (John) Hockgeiger of rural Albion, IL, 2 sons; Kenneth Gines of Whitehall, MD, Tim (Colleen) Gines of Browns, IL, 2 step-daughters; Kathy and Candy Sue, 2 step-sons; James and Dean, 8 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and a sister; Edna (Melvin) Campbell of Browns, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 step-son. Also preceded by his dog “Tippy” and his cat “Miss Kitty”.

Graveside service will be at 2:00PM at Graceland Cemetery, Friday, June 12, 2015 with military rites. Visitation will be Friday, June 12, 2015 from 12:30pm-2:00pm at Ingram Funeral Home in Albion, IL.
