Ruth Laura Shanaberger Wymer (nee: Knapp) age 88, of Akron, passed away March 29, 2014. She graduated from East High School in 1943 where she was head cheerleader for 3 years.
Ruth was the loving mother of Jim (Bernadette) Shanaberger of New Mexico and devoted grandmother Mark (Tarena) and Michael Shanaberger. She was also the proud great- grandmother of 7.
Ruth loved spending time with her family in New Mexico and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Akron. The family would like to thank Ruth’s dearest friend Barbara Dominick for the love and care she gave her.
Graveside services will be held at 11am Saturday April 5, at Rose Hill Burial Park 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn. (PLEASE MEET AT MAIN GATE)
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Ruth’s name to one’s favorite charity.
