

She was born on August 13, 1930, in Lorain, Ohio. Rose grew up in Fremont, Ohio, and graduated from
Fremont Ross High School in 1948. After her graduation, she worked as a sales clerk at Joseph's Department Store and a classified sales representative at the Fremont News Messenger newspaper. She
married John Joel Hemminger, from Gibsonburg, Ohio, in January 1957, and they celebrated 54 years of
marriage before John's death in 2011. After John began his own company, Hemminger Construction, in
1981, Rose worked there for many years as the company's office manager. She was a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star and the First United Methodist Church, in Cuyahoga Falls, for over 50 years.
Rose always put her family first and had a strong Christian faith. She had a generous soul, and always
doted on her children and grandchildren, while also supporting various charities throughout the U.S.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, John Sr.; her beloved son, John Jr.; parents Allen and
Juanita (Bontriger) Clucker; and sisters Patricia (McConihay), Eleanor Jane, and Phyllis Audrey. She is
survived by children, Alan (Katheryn), Mark (Kimberlee), Karen (Albert) Pecoraro, daughter-in-law, Mary,
and 10 grandchildren, Vanessa, Adam, Matthew, Adam Casey, Amanda, Steven, Sara, Elyse, Michael,
and Sophia.
A private family service will be held on December 21, 2018 at the Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 W. Market St., Akron, Ohio, with Rev. John D. King, of the Richfield United Church of Christ, officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park (adjacent to the funeral home).
