Its been a year and I havent been to the shop....I just cant walk in there knowing youre not going to be greeting me ( as you did everyone) with that big smile and time to chat it up, like we did for 40 years. Rest In Peace Ron, God called his angel home. I remember how happy you were when you found out that you were in remission and we we rejoiced and thanked the Lord. Next time I saw you, you were fighting again. I thank God that you are finally finished fighting and wrapped in his Grace now. Until we meet again my friend, God speed! Rest peacefully now! Dearest Ron, You were such a generous man who always had the best stories to tell and would go out of your way to please all of your customers let alone instantly smile whenever anyone walked into your store. The last time I saw you I had on a House of Guitars shirt and you instantly noticed it and said you’ve been there before which was in Rochester NY and most people around this area have no clue about the place! I’m so honored to have loads of memorabilia that you personally sold me from your store that I will cherish for a lifetime. You’ll be laid to rest at such a beautiful cemetery at which my dad is buried there as well. Rest easy my friend and fly high. MUCH LOVE RON❤️❤️

Ron was a great guy a wealth of knowledge and a kind caring soul whom I will miss. I have shopped both stores hung out in the back room and even when I had my children an go to the shop Ron would hold them when they  where babies and play with them as they grow. Ron. Always made you feel like you where family. You will be missed my Brother fly high 


Ron was a cool dude and we done a lot of good things back in the day I have known him for a good 35 years and he was always the some happy man and would help you if you needed it .RIP my friend .still in the hood

I first met Ron in 1984 when he had the blacklight rooms I was 4 years old.  I got my first blacklight poster from him later when I was 15. He was always the coolest. 

You were always so sweet, kind and generous.  You will be missed by many my friend. Until we meet again. ✌❤

I am so sorry Mona for your loss of Ron. The 3 years I have lost many friends and family. But yet, I am still here. My 2 favorite Memories of Ron and me was teaching him how to clean A/C filter. And July the 4th 1977, We went to the old Kentucky Fried Chicken on State Rd.in Cuyahoga Falls, got small bucket and a real strawberry pie (A whole pie) then set off for my favorite laundry mat around the corner. As I fed quarters to my washers, here's my best friend Ron stuffing 2 washers with I think everything he owned. Ron said that's how he did it in the Army. The pie I haven't forgotten, I was cutting it. Ron stopped me, and showed me how to really enjoy strawberry pie in a laundry mat on the 4th of July by the hand fulls then the fork and knife come later when it was too messy.

We've lost one of the good guys! My deepest condolences to Ron's family. I've been going to see Ron since I was a punky teenager and  he was on E. Cuyahoga Falls Ave in the mid 70's. I'm going to miss him and all the great conversation he offered when you came in to see him.  He had seen a lot in his life and was eager to share his life experiences with you. He genuinely cared about his clientele and made time to talk and to listen and was always there with good advise on life. I brought some Apache tears back from a trip I made to Arizona and gave Ron some. Every time I'd stop by after that he'd say "I got those tears upstairs , I'll save em forever!" 
Ron, I'm sure going to miss you, but the memories,and life lessons,  I'll save those forever!

RIP, Ron. I had known Ron for years. I was a regular customer of Arsenic and Old Lace back in my twenties. The thing about him that stood out the most is he was just a genuinely good guy. In 2003 when my house burned down I took a trip up there to buy a couple things and I told him about it. He went up to his storeroom and came back down with a box full of clothes. I had nothing but a pair of glasses, pair of shoes that Dylan Roth gave me, and a voucher from the Red Cross. He gave me clothing. T-shirts, shorts, and all kinds of things from his inventory which he could have sold. Instead he said that he would rather me have them since I had just lost everything.

If it wasn't for Ron I would never have understood the truly genuinely good nature of some people. 

Thank you, Ron. You picked a good year to dip out 😂 I'm not sad but I'll miss you. You had a good life and I am blessed to have known you.

I have known Ron since I was a kid, my Uncle Bobby and Ron were friends.  My uncle used to bring me in to buy posters as a kid. As I got older I used to just come in. Ron always was so kind hearted love to  chat. If my uncle wasn’t with me he asked about him. When my uncle got sick he asked about him.  I brought my kids in to meet Ron. My kids loved Ron & booger. When my uncle passed he was so kind. He is going to be greatly missed. Sending love and prayers to everyone ❤️🙏🏻  

I'm so saddened to hear  that Ron has died.  The first thing that comes to mind to share about Ron was how every year throughout my teens/early twenties,  Ron would walk around the shop with me and take a mental note of my favorite picks. 
Then when my parents came in for Christmas shopping, Ron knew just what to reccomend to my folks!  Worked perfectly.  He is an Akron legend and will definitely be missed.   What a long strange trip it's been.  Rest in peace, Ron

I first met Ron 20 years ago!! I was new to town, from California and we hit it off immediately!! I stayed and shared stories for like an hour and a half!! I don't even recall if I ever purchased anything that day or not however I went in there quite a few times before moving to Arizona!! Such an amazing soul!! Fly high friend!!

My mom was a single mom. I don't know how my mom was led to Ron's store.  But, my little brother loved his rock-n-roll t-shirts and that was all he'd wear his childhood years until he was 18 or so. As a family, we were there often. I loved his posters and I bought every Whitesnake t-shirt he had! He greeted us with smiles for decades. Always a caring conversation and a special discount to top off our visit. We all really liked him a lot. I have not been back to the store in years because I moved. I truly hope his business will thrive and more generations can enjoy what they have to offer. Sympathy for all those that loved and cared for him. He surely will be missed. 

Every time I went in the shop you would talk to me about the Canary Islands place I've never been but a place I would surely enjoy I'm sure

He taught me so much durin' the 2 years I worked for him in the shop.  Some things I use everyday. 😊💜 So many memories.

Ron will be missed by many, he had a Great Impact on me as well!! He Always got you out of your Normal thought pattern to give you some Perspective! An make you see things differently. Ron was more like a Uncle than a family friend!! Always thoughtful an full of stories that you couldn't believe! His presence in the community will never be forgotten, Rock on my Friend, Fly High with the Angel's,  as you are Free from Pain an Suffering!! 

I only got to interact a few times. And those were when i went into arsenic, but he struck me as a genuine soul. I loved hearing his stories, this man was a rare one! I will miss him

You were very dear to me, my friend, known you for 40 plus years. I will never forget you. Every year when I lived up the street from your shop on Cuyahoga Falls Ave. you always let me borrow the coolest things for my Halloween parties, black lights, strobe lights, etc. and every year the neighbors would call the police on me, LOL.  We had some fun though. You are a very special person and you will be missed dearly.  I'm sure our spirits will cross paths again someday.  RIP my friend.

Throughout the years I have never met such a kind soul. I can't recall any time where he wasn't in a good mood. Always had a kind word. I've always viewed him in a "village elder" perspective. Wise, knowledgeable, and straight forward. A staple in the community and dependable. He has always been in my thoughts. I bet he's looking down, flabbergasted at all the lives he touched. If you didn't know him or heard of him, you didn't grow up in Akron. My love and condolences to his friends and family

I can't believe you are no longer here with us. I have been coming to your shop for 30 years. I would never go anywhere else but your shop. You were always honest and greeted me with kindness every time I entered your shop. Fly High my friend.

I would like to express my condolences to Ron's family! I have long been a customer of his and always was glad to see his smiling face when I went into the store (along with a greeting from Booger)! I know how proud he was to have his shop stay in business for so many years, and I hope it continues on in his memory for many more years to come! We have definitely lost one of the good ones! You had a HUGE heart of gold and never put yourself first. You're generosity IMPACTED me and played a big part with who I am today. Ron was like a big brother who always had something to say. Met him when I was about 12. At all 3 shops on Cuyahoga Falls Ave. Worked for him and partied with him. A lot of great memories and he'll always be a part of my life history! Rock on my friend!
