Rolin (Ron) D. Lujan, 96, passed away suddenly but peacefully at his home in Fairlawn on July 20, 2022. Born in Rochester, New York on May 3, 1926, he moved to Ohio in 1952 where he started his career as a restaurateur in 1956 with the opening of his first Lujan’s Burger Boy restaurant. Ron owned and operated several Lujan’s Family Restaurants until his retirement.
Ron embraced life and enjoyed many active pursuits throughout his years. He earned his pilot’s license and flew his personal airplanes for many years. He loved golf, tennis, skiing, windsurfing, and especially boating and camping which he continued into his later years. In his quiet time, he was an avid reader and completed Sudoku puzzles.
Ron was a huge presence and his passing has left his family with immense heartache and a void in our daily lives. He was cherished by his family and many friends. Ron was an all-around good guy who would always lend a helping hand to others. A bright light has been diminished.
He was the beloved husband of Marilyn, loving father to his children, Ron (R.F.), Allan (who preceded him in death), Cheryl LaRose, Ross (Karen), Daniel (Jennifer), Patricia Lujan Faust and stepfather to David Aleksin (Linda) and David B. Adams. He was the adoring grandfather of Brandon, Kat LaRose Figola (Tony), Alexandra and Emilie Faust, Lesley Horsfall (Nate), April Wallis and David M. Adams. Ron was great grandfather of Finn and Hollis Figola, Eleanor, Evelyn, and Elijah Horsfall, Noah, Penny, and Patrick Adams, and John Wallis.
