Michael Edward Johnston

Michael Edward Johnston went home to be with The Lord, Saturday August 31, 2013, at the age of 30. He was born in Akron, OH on March 3, 1983 and was a graduate of Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and Liberty University.]

Michael lived every day as a devoted husband and father, and a man of God. He was an active member of Faith Family Church, a loyal employee to Allstate Insurance Company, and a fan of all things Disney. Before attending Faith Family, Michael and his wife Chrissy led children’s programs at Akron Baptist Temple and First Baptist Church of Aurora. He enjoyed serving as a member of the production team at Faith Family, traveling, cycling and singing. He was a former member of the Summit Choral Society and Masterworks Chorale in Akron.

Michael leaves behind his wife Christine “Chrissy” Myers-Johnston and their two children; Madeline and Caleb, his parents Richard and Barbara Johnston (nee: Weekley), his sister Jessica (Wayne) Boyer, and his brother Rich (Valerie) Johnston. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.

Family will receive friends Thursday, September 5, from 3-8pm and one hour prior to funeral services at the CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11am.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made at any PNC Bank for the “Madeline and Caleb Johnston Education Fund.”
