Loving husband to Norma for 59 years. Devoted father to Lori (Randall) Walker, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Roe, David (Sandra) Roe, and Melissa (William) Nagel; dear grandfather to Andrea (Josh) Rothberg, Rachael (Mikhail) Kimbel, Chelsea Roe, Katie Walker, Sarah Roe, Elizabeth Roe, Ryan Nagel, Emma Roe, Emily Nagel, and Kyle Nagel; great-grandfather of Olivia Kimbel; brother to Mary Peters and Richard Roe (deceased); and brother-in-law of Ruth Shiflett.
Melvin was a lifelong member of Akron First Assembly of God Church and for many years owned National Safety & Security Systems.
