Louise J. Baker

Louise Baker 94 went home to be with her Lord on January 15, 2018. She was born September 9, 1923 in Boissivain VA to the late Wayne and Mabel (Puckett) Jessee. She moved to Akron at age 11 and lived there until moving to Portage County in 2008.

While living in Akron, she was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, driving patients to and from their treatments. She was a 50 year member of Ellestar Chapter No 565 of Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron and was Treasurer for several years until the chapter merged with Falls Chapter No 265 where she was also a member. Louise was a member of the Stan Hywet Society and was a tour guide of the Manor House for 5 years. She belonged to The Chapel in Akron and attended Kent United Methodist Church after moving to the Kent, Rootstown area. She was a very big fan of Ohio State football, and never missed watching a game.

Louise is proceeded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, George, sisters Marie Mackenzie and Jean Bird, and brothers Bob and Jack Ashbrook. She is survived by daughters Sandra (Norman) Stout of Rootstown, and Georgette (Ken) Thomas of Cuyahoga Falls. Grand children Rick (Staci) Stout of Akron, James (Kathy) Stout of KY, Andrew Thomas of Cuyahoga Falls, David (Jessica) Thomas of CA, and Jennifer (Jon) McConnell of CO. Great grandchildren, Shane (fiancée Alyssa) of Vermillion, Brandon of Rootstown, Derek, and Ryan Stout, Alex McConnell and Jonathon, Christopher, Rachel and Meredith Thomas, and Colin of KY, plus several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Arbors of Stow for the excellent care they provide for Louise this past year.

The family will receive friends on Saturday January 20, 2018 at ROSE HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3653 Market St. Fairlawn, OH from 10 AM until time of Service at 11 AM. Rick Stout, will be officiating. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park.
