Sadly, Larry succumbed to Esophageal Cancer on Wednesday December 29, 2021, at the age of 69. Larry grew up in Akron’s, North Hill. He worked at Ford Motor Company, retiring after 38 years from the Walton Hills location.
Larry loved anything nature. He eagerly looked forward to deer season each year with his hunting buddies Dave Barger and Ken Baker. He loved planting gardens, whether it be flowers or vegetables. Larry also loved to cook, if you named it, he’d try to master it, always being
his worst critic. Larry skipped the role of fatherhood not having children of his own, but eagerly and proudly jumped into the role of Grandpa. He was elated every time he heard the word “Grandpa”. Larry felt being awarded the role of grandpa was his greatest blessing in his life.
Larry is survived by his wife Terri; step-children Sean (Angie) Shiplett and Traci(Bane) Kraft; the lights of his life, grandchildren Donovan Shiplett, Landon, Alaina, Vance and Brenna Kraft; brother and sisters, brothers-in-laws, and sisters-in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and his faithful pooch Sam.
Larry wanted to express a special thanks to His Doctor, Sonia Sandhu, for her diligence, his Infusion Nurses
Heather, Emily and Vicky, for their care and compassion, Cleveland Clinic At Home Hospice Care, for allowing him his dignity, and his niece Christy Sorboro, for her many hours of help she offered in his
last months.
Due to Covid, Services and Celebration of his life, will be announced and held at a later date. Burial at Rose
Hill Burial Park.
