He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific theater as a Naval Airman in dive bombers. He retired from B.F. Goodrich in 1982 with 39-years of service. In retirement Jack enjoyed his animals, being outdoors, a cup of coffee and smoking his pipe. His sharp wit was always precipitated by that “twinkle in his eye”.
Jack is survived by son Joseph (Christina); daughter Ellen (Bruce) Grayson, grandchildren Shannon (Matt) Myer, Katlyn, Allison, Gavin, McKenna and great granddaughter Bexley. Additional survivors include nieces; Bonnie Morgan, Judy Mayfield, Jackie Barile and nephews; Dick Brammer and Robert Davis Jr.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 68-years Patricia (Nielsen) Davis, parents (Arthur C. Davis and Nell Bias-Davis), his “Mom” Susie Smith and siblings, Bill, Bob, Judy and Betty.
Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Guiding Eyes for the Blind or the Summit County Humane Society.
