Shue (son).
Life began in 1922 in Middlefield, Ohio among the Amish community. Prior to WWI ending, his father worked at the Goodrich factory returning to farming for the next decade or so, preceded the the Great Depression. During that time, lack of food, medical care, clothing and employment strained family relationships.
Leaving early for WWII he was involved in the Pacific Theater of New Guinea and the Philippines. Nearly 75% of his battalion were killed while he earned two bronze stars. Expecting not to survive, having met Gene prior to leaving kept his hopes up. Returning home, achieving training in shoe repair took him and his sweetheart to Denver, Colorado.
Establishing a business, a home and family would help ease the horror of war waiting for the invasion of Japan. Continuing his business back to Wadsworth was interrupted by change in the industry. The rest of working days were spent in school bus driving. Bypass surgery on the heart ended work.
The rest of life was spent serving his family through many trials and challenges. Pursuit of others' happiness brought joy to him. Rather than boast in himself he was glad for others' achievements . Instead of competing with others, he was a cooperator. His answer to entrance to heaven would be, "Why me?". He knew the reality of the hymn, "Amazing Grace".
