Gabrielle was born in Camp-Perrin, Haiti to Marie Constant on March 10, 1940. After high school she received a degree in teaching. She was an elementary school teacher that was beloved by her students. She came to the United States in 1969. She married Gerard Ferrer in 1978 in Miami, Florida.
Gabrielle worked in environmental services for Akron City Hospital. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and daily phone conversations with her sister. Her greatest passion was her relationship with Jesus. She was a member of St Bernard's Catholic church in Akron, Ohio. She spent hours in daily prayer and reading the Bible, participated in her prayer group, attended daily mass, and spent time in Adoration at her church’s Chapel. Gabrielle organized the public Rosary Rally and prayed outside of abortion clinics. She prayed with the homeless at her church's hot meals program, donated many items for the poor, evangelized to anyone she talked with, and always had time for others.
Gabrielle was preceded in death by her mother Marie Constant, uncle Edner Constant and grandmother Eliantine Thermidor.
Gabrielle is survived by her husband Gerard Ferrer, her sister Rose Marie Denis, sons Pierre (Sonji) Ferrer and Paul Ferrer, grandchildren Dominique Ferrer, Marcel Ferrer and Tristan Ferrer, niece Dominique Denis, nephew Anthony Denis (Lauren), great niece Sara Helena Denis (Olivier Senat) and numerous other cousins, relatives and dear friends.
A visitation for Gabrielle will be held Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Rose Hill Funeral Home, Akron, Ohio. A funeral mass will occur Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave, Akron, Ohio. Entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park, Akron, Ohio.
