On February 1, 1933, Elva Robinson was born to Theodore Martin and Beatrice Parchment in New Albany IN. Elva at the age of 90, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on December 1, 2023 at home with loved ones by her side.
Elva began her formal education/graduated in New Albany IN. She accepted Christ at an early age. The family later moved to Louisville Ky. In her early years she was united in marriage to David Roberts Sr. and from this union she bore 3 children: Sandra Young, Raymonda Roberts and David Roberts Jr. In September 1958 she married Garland William Robinson and from that union, Garland W Robinson III was born. They moved to Akron OH when she pursued her nursing career until retirement. Elva continued to dedicate her life to the Lord at the Open-Door Assembly Church of God. She was an advent worker in the Church. She loved working in the food bank and would do a multitude of tasks in the church. You could always count on her.
Elva was a strong advocate for American Legion Auxiliary Unit #272, Mary Exalted Temple #95, Pride of Rubbertown #1594 and she also was the Grand Directress I.B.P.O.E of the World Elks, Akron OH.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Beatrice Martin, husband; Garland W Robinson; Sisters, Dorothy Porter, Ruth Briggs, Hattie M Brown and Mary Pittman, Brothers; Alexander Conn and Charles W. Martin She Leaves to cherish her memories, daughters; Sandra Young, Raymonda Roberts and sons, David (Crystal) Roberts Jr and Garland W(Starr) Robinson III. Elva has 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren and her Fur Grandpuppies, Bailey and Money. Nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Friends and family may come to call on Monday, December 11, 2023 from 11-12 pm. A Home Going Celebration will begin at 12 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 West Market Street, Akron, Ohio. Burial at Rose Hill Burial Park.
