

Eleanor Irene Sager (nee: Cottom) age 92, passed away peacefully August 2, 2014 with her family by her side. She was a lifelong Akron resident and retired as the Director of the Blood Program of the American Red Cross.
Eleanor was the loving mother of Kathleen Miller and John (Sheila) Sager. She was “Nanny” to all, especially to her grandchildren; Kim (Ed) Holland, Kristin (Ron) Nelson, Sean (Lisa) Sager and Mark (Leigh) Sager and her 10 great-grandchildren. Eleanor was the sister of Patricia (Joseph) Giuliani, whom she loved dearly.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents William and Irene Cottom, one brother and 3 sisters.
Eleanor’s family would like to thank Dr. Steven Cochran, dear friends Debbie Snell, Dorothy Ladas and Pat Bachman for their love and support, and Rockynol Retirement Community for their excellent and loving care.
A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate the life of Eleanor Friday August 8, 6pm at the CATAVOLOS FUNERAL HOME 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn, where family will receive friends from 4:30pm until time of services.
Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park.
