Marie Kathryn Hopkins

With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Marie Kathryn Hopkins (nee Sadler). Devoted wife of 49 years to Dale. Mom of two boys, Shawn (Melissa) and Wayne (Nancy), and grandma to 8 grand kids. She passed away peacefully on August 26, 2023. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.

Our mother, Marie, was all these things and more:

She sacrificed for 3 boys,

a domestic household engineer,

A Wife,

Best friend,

Crossing guard,

Lunch monitor,

Bus driver,

Coach of baseball for Acton,

Chaser of adventure, and

Acton fall fair enthusiast.

Mom was silly, fun and loved dancing while doing the dishes with her family. She taught her children to live and love life, and to push forward when times are tough. To be responsible and respectful was very important - always take pride in your work.

"Marie had a talent to create such beauty in her universe even when the cards or circumstances were not favorable. Marie taught me love and the importance in forgiveness, which requires a lot of strength. Marie was strong and creative and loved by her family immensely. Marie held such a passion with all things in life"

A Celebration of Marie’s Life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion, Acton Branch 197, 15 Wright Ave,

on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
