Gail Elizabeth Stone

September 14, 1943 – September 8, 2022

Gail Elizabeth Stone, born in Peterborough, Ontario passed away peacefully at Eden House, Long Term Care Facility outside of Acton, ON, on September 8, 2022.

Predeceased by her parents, Cyril and Betty Stone and her great love, Robert (Bob) Pulford. Gail is survived by her 3 children, Patti (Mark), Mike (Kim) and Colleen. Loving grandmother to her 6 Grandchildren; Ashley, Kayla, Samantha, Megan, Aaron and Katie and her 6 Great Grandchildren; Owen, Lexi, Daxton, Willow, Everson and Kamryn.

Prior to dementia diagnosis, Gail was always on the go. She had a long career with the Ministry of Correctional Services both at Vanier and OCI in Brampton, ON. If you knew Gail, you knew she always made herself available to be there for others. She was involved in charitable events and community services including the Ontario Model Soldier Society and PYO organization. She held community breakfasts at the Acton Community Center to support local charities and was known to cater some events within the community. She enjoyed her dart league at the Acton Legion and attended almost every sports activity her grandchildren participated in.

She was an avid baker and known to just drop by with a batch of cookies, squares and baked goods to friends and family. She was always there to lend a hand or offer assistance if she thought she could help. She had a love of crafts and could be happily found knitting or crocheting in her spare time. She loved photos and scrapbooking and has left a legacy in those photo books she took the time to create. She also volunteered to teach classes of these crafts during her time at OCI.

She will be missed by her family and many friends. The family would like to thank the nurses, PSW’s and staff at Eden House.

It was Gail’s wishes that cremation take place but not a traditional funeral.

A celebration of life will occur in the coming weeks.
