Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Travis Sims officiating. Interment will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery-Cedar Hill. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 1-2:00 pm.
Vuna was born on August 27, 1930 in Eastland County into the loving home of Luther and Mary (Wheeler) Jones. She grew up in a large family and enjoyed creating many special memories with her siblings living in the country. Vuna attended school at Blackwell and lived in the Shep Community. She married Earl Henry on April 18, 1948 and in 1953, they had their only child Wesley E. Henry. Earl preceded her in death in 1973. She relocated to Abilene in 1955 and worked for TIMEX for 22 ½ years and then went on to become employed and retired from Coca-Cola. Her family was very important to her though she only had one child she was a mother and grandmother figure to 4 generations of nieces and nephews. She had an excellent memory and never forgot a birthday or anything else. At the center of her life was her Faith. Growing up her family was always active in church they were former members of Eastside Baptist Church. In 1981, she married Tommy E. King and became a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was an active and devoted member in all her church affiliations. She taught the Beginners class in Sunday school for over 20 years, was always active with vacation Bible School and anywhere else she was needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Mary Jones; husbands, Earl Henry and Tommy E. King; her only child, Wesley E. Henry; brother, Huston B. Jones and his wife, Alma; brother-in-laws, Dee Rounsaville Jr., Jimmy Maddux, and Raby Sims; and nephew Joe Dan Rounsaville.
She is survived by her brothers, Murland H. Jones and his wife Thelma Lou; Rubin C. Jones and his wife, Jennette; Luther "Doyle" Jones and his wife, Nina; her sisters, Wanda L. Maddux and Edna Ruth Sims; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Her friendly and warm nature allowed her to make many friends through the years who were also blessed to be a part of her life.
