Vivian "Von" Jenkins

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, Abilene, with Frank Johnston officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Merkel, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Vivian “Von” was born March 21, 1940 to O.B. Lester and Lottie McCoy Lester in Lubbock, Texas. Von had been married to Bill W. Jenkins for the last 16 years. Von had previously been married to Gene Palmer who survives her and Jack Pattillo who preceded her in death. From these unions, a son, Scott Palmer and a daughter, Leslie Mari Pattillo were born. Von worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone, McMahon Law Firm, City of Abilene, Tommy Milliorn Realtors, Reunion Realtors, and Century 21 Realtors from which she retired in 1988. She later worked part-time for Outreach Health Services.

Von was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. and Lottie Lester and a brother, Floyd C. Lester.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Jenkins of Abilene; son, Scott Palmer and wife, Paige from Plano, Texas; and daughter, Leslie Mari Pattillo from Essen, Germany.
