Tracy Alan Doughty, 63, passed from this Earth on January 2, 2024. He was born July 11, 1960 to Martha Jane Kelley Doughty and Calvin Clayton Doughty. He is predeceased by his mother, father, and brothers Bobby Dale Doughty and Michael Doughty.
Tracy graduated from Abilene High School in 1978. He married the love of his life, Velvet, on May 1, 1982. He then worked for NCR for 40 years and FTSI for two years before retiring in June of 2021.Tracy was a loving son, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather and was loved deeply in return. He was always the one with the camera, almost never in the photos himself. Tracy loved woodworking and working on classic cars with his son and was helping his daughter renovate her house.
Tracy taught us all how to love and to be the type of person worth loving. He was the first person willing to jump in and help when anyone needed it, and never expected anything in return (except maybe a hug or three). We relied on him for so much, and our lives are forever changed with his loss, but we will continue to remember him as the perfect example of what we should all aspire to be.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 2-4 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel on Highway 277 S. in Abilene. Service will be Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Potosi Cemetery.
