Sterling Ray Selman, 29, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010 in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South. Burial will follow in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Sterling was born April 5, 1981 in Abilene to Rocky and Cindy Selman. He was a lifetime resident of the Big Country and was a Baptist. He loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and worked hard as a roughneck in the oilfield. Sterling was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to all.
Survivors include his wife, Melanie of Abilene; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Rocky Selman of Graham, TX; a son, Bladen Selman of Abilene; a stepdaughter, Karcin Smith of Hamlin, TX; three sisters, Sletha Allison and husband Mike, Misty Ponder and husband Philip both of Abilene, and Rockie Ann and husband Marvin Craft of Aspermont; five nieces and one nephew.
