Stephen M Otto

Stephen Melvin Otto, 68, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, in Abilene, Texas. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015, in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Stephen was born November 3, 1946 in Michigan City, Indiana to Melvin and Donna Otto. He graduated from High School; joined the military and served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty-two years. Stephen retired as a MSgt and a Vietnam Vet. During his military career, he was stationed at several bases and countries. Stephen was a resident of Abilene, Texas since 1967. As a civilian, he was employed at Gooch, Highland Foods, Cedar Creek Cold Storage, and as a refrigeration repairman. Stephen married Leanna Coker on March 25, 1967. He was an avid hunter.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Leanna Otto of Abilene; daughters, Kimberly Byers and husband, Bryon Byers of Odessa, Texas and Stephanie Mealer and husband, Damian Mealer of Abilene; grandson, Leif Mealer of Abilene; granddaughter, Aeon Mealer of Abilene; and brothers, Brian Otto of LaPorte, Indiana and Matt Otto of Houston, Texas.
