Stanley Ray Hastings, 72, passed away on Monday August 22, 2016 in Abilene. A Celebration of Life will be held at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 2:00p.m.
Mr. Hastings was born in Abilene on July 28, 1944 to R.H. Hastings and Cress Kirkpatrick Hastings. He attended Wylie public schools and graduated from Wylie High School. Stanley married Betty Smith on January 28, 1963 in Buffalo Gap, Texas. He was employed by BNSF Railroad and retired after 34 years of service.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a brother, Hyce Hastings. Survivors include his wife, Betty Hastings; his daughter, Debbie Adkins and husband, Rick; granddaughter, Jessica Stephenson and husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Logan, Morrigan, and Corbin Compton; siblings, Carol Hastings and wife, Peggy, Charlotte Hart, Sarah Lou Thomas and husband, Stan, Leland Hastings and wife, Sarah; sister-in-law, Ann Hastings; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beltway Park South Church.
