Shirley A. Johnson

Shirley A. Johnson of Abilene passed away on Friday, September 7 2018 at a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 12pm on Monday, September 10, 2018 in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, with burial to follow in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 6 to 8pm on Sunday evening at the funeral home.

She was born on October 2, 1935 in Del Rio, Texas. Shirley was a Registered nurse and work many years at Abilene Regional. She was a homemaker, a devoted wife and a giving mother. She was a Christian. She married her late husband, Jimmy Johnson, on August 5, 1964 and the couple was married for 34 1/2 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Johnson and her daughters Linda Lujan and Christie Price all of Abilene. She was also preceded in death by Calvin A. Wallen Sr., Ruth Wallen, Calvin A. Wallen Jr., Albert A. Wallen, Flossie Brotherton, Emmit Brotherton, Margaret Alsup, Bill Alsup, Harriett Wallen, and Regina Winn.

She is survived by her sons Bobby Johnson and his wife Carol, Calvin Ross Winn and his wife Denise and Jimmy Winn all of Abilene and a brother Tommy Wallen if Del Rio Texas. She is also survived by sister in laws, Lavine and Cathy Wallen; son in law, Tracy Price; 14 grandkids; 35 great grandchildren; 43 great-great children; and a host of extended family.
