Visitation will be held on Sunday October 15 from 5-7:00 pm also at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 US Highway 277 S. Abilene, Texas 79606. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home with Mark Hambright officiating. Interment will follow in Shep Cemetery where she will be buried with her parents
Shelby was born on November 12, 1947 the only child to the late Mardell Allen Shedd and Nola B(Arnold) Shedd. She was born in Winters and raised in Shep on the Shedd Ranch. Her mother was the local school teacher and drove the school bus. She attended school at Nolan, Divide and graduated from Blackwell. She and her family were longtime members of the Shep Church of Christ. In her early adult years she lived several places before settling back in Abilene in the early 70’s. She devoted herself to raising her 2 children before starting a successful career with D.P.S. Her family was so important to her and creating memories with them brought her the greatest fulfillment. She enjoyed the simple things in life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son at heart, Ricky Roberts.
She is survived by her two children, Niki Pratt and Chad Bolls and his wife, Cindy; grandchildren, Lexxy Greggor, Chug, Talon, Garrett, Grayson and Kuree; great-grandchildren, Piper, Weston and Wyatt. She is also survived by three cousins who were more like sisters, Judy, Kay, and Barbara and a host of other special relatives and friends.
