Sam Houston Tindall Jr.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April, 23, 2011, at Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, with Mark Hewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Necessity Cemetery (southeast of Breckenridge) under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. The family will receive friends at a visitation Friday evening at the funeral home from 6 - 8p.m.

Sam was born May 8, 1929 in Clovis, NM. He lived in Breckenridge and married Jessie Lorain Sanders on October 18, 1950. They moved to Abilene in 1953. Sam worked for Ringo Drilling Company for over 35 years. His favorite pastime was to be doing whatever his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids were doing.

Preceding him in death were an infant daughter Katheryn and infant son Lee; his parents Sam and Ellen Houston Sr.; brothers and sisters Louis, James, Ann and Bernice.

Survivors include his wife Lorain; his children Jimmy and Debbie, David and Jaime, Sammie and Shelia, Gary, Jay, Ronnie and Tina; grandchildren Stephanie, Brandon, Brian, Evan, Patrick, Casey, Levi and Kelly; great-grandchildren Micah, McKenzi, Riley, Kadee, Audrey, Taylor and Ryder; and sister Arlene Roberts.
