Ruby Jean Cooper

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 518 Dunnigan Street, Breckenridge, Texas. Burial will follow in Breckenridge Cemetery, 1301 East Elliott Street, Breckenridge, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene, Texas.

Mrs. Cooper was born April 13, 1932 in Henderson, Texas to the late Leon Dorsey and Liza Jones Dorsey. Mrs. Cooper was known for her baking, especially her home-made pound cake. She married the late Reverend Elijah Cooper and served faithfully at his side in the Ministry.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Mrs. Virgie Bell Cooper Strait of Childress, Texas and Ms. Marshane Cooper of Waco, Texas; seven sisters; one brother; six grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
