Feb 5, 2022 at Hendrick North Hospital in Abilene, Texas surrounded by family.
The celebration of life service will be Saturday, February 12th at Wylie Baptist Church at 10am.
Visitation will be Friday, February 11th, also at Wylie Baptist Church from 6 to 8pm. Burial will be on
Tuesday, February 15th at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene at 2pm.
Ross was born on December 26, 1946 in Lamesa,Texas to his loving parents, Ross and Ella Mae (Elder)
Anderson. Ross graduated from Wienert High School in 1966. He attended Hardin-Simmons University
and then joined the U.S. Army in 1969. On December 21, 1969 he married his beloved wife,
Judy Dianne Offutt Anderson. During the next 20 years he served his country in Vietnam, two
tours to West Germany, and various Army Post’s in the U.S. After retiring from the Army, he
moved his family to Abilene, Texas. He spent 21 years working at the Abilene State Supported
Living Center.
Ross was a faithful member of Wylie Baptist Church. He was a member of The Car Keeper’s
Club. He enjoyed going to Wylie sporting events and car shows but most of all he liked spending
time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, his mother, and his baby sister Iris Ann.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, his two proud Army Brats Melissa Anderson and Valerie
Anderson, one grandson Zachary Hearn, his two furbabies Chloe and Charlie, and numerous
aunts, uncles, and cousins.
