He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on April 9, 1952 at the age of 17, serving 24 years of honorable and faithful service. While stationed in California, he met Colleen Hadley. The two married on December 30, 1960 in Anaheim, California, and there they started their family. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, AZ LDS Temple. After serving in Vietnam, the Worleys moved to Abilene, Texas in 1970 with daughters Sheron and Denise. He retired from the Marine Corps in 1976 and embarked on a land surveying career, retiring again in 1995. While in Abilene, he extended helpful hands to the community and participated in various types of volunteer work, including working at the Dyess Air Force Base pharmacy, which he truly enjoyed. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in the Stake Presidency, the Bishopric, the Genealogy Library, and as a faithful home teacher.
Under his brawny exterior rested a generous, humble, and family centered interior. He had 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren that he taught the most valuable lessons a man can instill into a family. He defined grit, integrity, honor, loyalty, love, and most importantly, faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Sheron Worley Casey; brothers: Thomas, Maxwell, Gaylord, and McClellan Worley; 2 sisters, Maxine Schroeder and Oline Lambert.
