Robert Earl Wilson

Robert Earl Wilson, 94, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017 in Abilene, Texas after a brief illness. Services will be at 2:30p.m., Saturday January 14, 2017 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Chaplain Charles Goodnight officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Wilson, Paul Wilson, Richard Jones, Phil Gage, and James Page. Visitation will be from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South on Saturday prior to the service.

Born June 17, 1922 in Abilene, TX to Archie and Amy Wilson. He married Ethel Young on March 17, 1951 in Abilene. He was a B-17 pilot in the U.S. Air Force serving in WWII. Robert was a lifelong resident of Abilene and a longtime employee of Meads Fine Bread.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Cheryl Wilson of Abilene; and his son, Thomas Allen Wilson of Austin. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Wilson of Abilene; one granddaughter, Cheryl Lynn Wilson of Portland, Oregon; a grandson, Todd Allen Wilson also of Portland, Oregon; a great-granddaughter, Arya Anjoli Wilson; a sister, Joy Teaff of Merkel; and one brother, Delmon Wilson of Abilene.
