Robert Dellis Sapp, 42, of Abilene, went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 2nd, 2013, after battling a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 10th at 4:00 p.m. at Freedom Fellowship Church, 941 Chestnut, Abilene, with Zacheri Espinosa officiating. Arrangements by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene, TX.
He was born on August 7th, 1970, in Mt. Pleasant Township, MO, to Sharon Lee Ellis and Richard David Sapp. Robert and his family moved to Abilene in 1984, and he has resided here since. He attended Wylie High School, and graduated in 1988. He worked as an auto mechanic for many years until he became disabled with a serious illness in 2009. Robert was loved by many, and always a joy to be around. He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and racing cars. His dog, Chevy, was his pride and joy.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Hurt of Abilene, his mother Sharon Cole of Longview, his grandmother Christine Ellis of Longview, brother Ben Sapp and his wife Monica of Plano, Uncle Brad Ellis of New York, Aunt Rhetta Sapp of Nashville, TN, and other aunts, cousins, and nieces. He was predeceased by his father, Rick Sapp. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his family, his in-laws, and all of his friends.
