Robert Allen James Jr.

Robert Allen James, Jr., 50, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at his home in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2013 at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, 5701 Hwy 277 South, with Pastor Rudy Fambrough officiating, under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Robert was born February 10, 1963 in Houston, Texas to Robert and Vanilla James. Robert was a man of men, passionate, caring, devoted to wife and family, with a big heart. He always cared for others and lightened the mood with jokes or humorous remarks. He was a truck driver and loved the open road. He played the guitar and loved music. He was a drug and alcohol counselor with a degree in psychology.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife, Gloria James; three sons, Adam, Matthew and John; a daughter, Casey, all of Abilene; a brother, David James; a nephew, Quincy James; and 7 grandchildren.
