A visitation for Reva will be held Friday, September 27, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas 79606. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, Texas.
Reva was born in Abilene, Texas. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1955. She maintained these relationships her whole life and enjoyed participating in their class reunions. Reva had four children with her former husband. She was a teller at Abilene Teachers Federal Credit Union for many years and a secretary at Madison Junior High School. Reva then married long time friend, Kenny Turner, in 1988. Reva and Kenny enjoyed driving the backroads in their travel trailer, appreciating the history and scenery throughout the southern U.S. They also loved carpentry and even helped build their church, Clearfork Baptist Church in Hawley. Reva’s hobbies included square dancing, sewing, embroidery, and she loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include sons Mitch Mitchell of Florida, Travis Mitchell of Beaumont, Chuck (Brenda) Mitchell of Abilene, and daughter Pam (Mike) Redman of Abilene; step-children Ken (Debra) Turner of Mississippi, Balinda (Evan) Denton of Mississippi; grandchildren Matthew (Chris) Redrich of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Jennifer Redman of Lubbock, Scott Mitchell (Jenifer Perry) of Abilene; step-grandchildren Carrie Carpenter, Dusty Turner, Taylor (Hunter) Wilbanks, Caleb (Kaitlyn) Yates, Julie (Taylor) English all of Mississippi; great-grandchildren Noah Redrich of Rancho Cucamonga and Kyson Mitchell of Abilene; step-great-grandchildren Isla, Eli, and Mason Yates, Remi Kate English of Mississippi; and niece Leigh Anne Hall of Ballinger.
Reva was preceded in death by her spouse Kenny Turner, parents Jester and Jewell Pritchett, and siblings Charles Pritchett and Doris Pittman.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walk With Pride (a non profit which provides children with new shoes for school) through the Abilene Realtors Foundation at 626 S. Pioneer or a charity of your choice.
