Rebecca Gonzalez

Rebecca “Sunshine” Maldonado, age 54, of Eden, TX passed away Friday, June10, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Grace Fellowship, 910 Cypress Street, Abilene, TX.

Rebecca was born in Sweetwater, TX to Rebecca D. Salinas and Dominick Maldonado. She grew up in Abilene, TX. Rebecca had a big, loving heart and she was full of life. Nothing would break her spirit – thus her nickname “Sunshine”.

Survivors include her husband, Ambrosio Gonzalez; daughters, Nikki A. Jimenez and Cassie Jimenez; son, Kaleb D. Covarrubias and son-in-law, Eric Flores; seven grandchildren, Annika Hernandez, Sebastian Jimenez, Mark Anthony Gomez, Carly Newman, Robert Justin Will, Kaley Will and Evan Will; mother, Rebecca D. Salinas; brother, Frank Maldonado; sisters, Thelma Maldonado, Elizabeth Maldonado and Erica Salinas; many nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Santiago Jimenez and Eugene Escamilla, a man very near and dear to her.
