Ramon A. Sotelo

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013, in Abilene Municipal Cemetery, with Pastor David Cason officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. The family will receive friends at a visitation 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ramon was born February 5, 1940 to Arcadio Sotelo and Anita Aguilar Sotelo in Del Rio, Texas. He was raised in Abilene, Texas. Ramon was a professional painter; hardworking; an honest man; and a loving father and friend to many. His grandchildren were the center of his life.

Ramon was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Martha Sotelo; and his brothers, Arcadio Sotelo, Jr. and Johnny Sotelo.

Survivors include two daughters, Lydia Bynum and husband, George and Leonor “Nora” Freeman and husband, Michael; three grandchildren, Jaycee Grace Bynum and Matthew and Caleb Freeman; and nephews, Tony and Christopher Sotelo and families.

The family will be at 2325 Woodard Street, Abilene, Texas 79605.
