Paula Stutts McCaughn

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. A private burial will take place on Friday at the Midway Cemetery.

She was born in Abilene, Texas on March 8, 1947 to Vernon Lamar Stutts and Lola Fay Sims. She attend Wylie High School. She met her husband to be, Thomas Larry McCaughn, while he was stationed at Dyess AFB in late 1966 and they were married September 21, 1967 in Paxton, Illinois.

During her healthy years she loved sports. While her and her husband spent five years in the Philippines she was active in Judo, being good enough to make the men's team. Upon her husband returning to civilian life and moving to the Beaumont, Texas and then to the Mauriceville, Texas area she was active playing organized softball which she was very good at.

Her other interests included crafts of various kinds, cooking, and of course spoiling grandkids and great-grandkids.

She was preceded in death by both her parents, her step dad, Eura Lee "Curley" Henderson and her daughter, Felicia Lechelle "Shelly" McCaughn.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Thomas Larry McCaughn; her children, sons, Thomas A. McCaughn and John D McCaughn of Abilene and daughter, Tinicia Nash (Billy) of Splendora, Texas; her grandchildren, Tiffany Einecke (Nick) of Cyprus, Texas, Ashley McCaughn of Houston, Texas, Chase Fuston(Ivonne) of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, Nacona Fuston of Splendora, Texas, Candice Duff(Justin) of Bevil Oaks, Texas, Cadence Nowell of Sulphur, Louisiana, Dakota McCaughn of Kirbyville, Texas, and Cassie Ridgaway of Bridge City, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Merlin Einecke, Dariana Toscana, Maya Fuston, Kaius Fuston, Kalilah Hoover, Ezra Norton, Kaysen Nicholson, Kendal Duff, Harrison Duff, and Jasper Ridgaway.

She is also survived by her sister Laretha Kraft of Lancaster Pennsylvania, step-sister Debbie Deal of Little Rock Arkansas, and aunt Martha Joyce(John) of Rising Star Texas
