Paul Angel Martinez Jr.

Paul A. Martinez, Jr., 60, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2017 in Abilene. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Monday, November 27, 2017 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St. with burial following in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Si Acuna, Alex Leal, Larry Leal, Felix Leal, Sam Day, and Ruben Moreno.

Paul was born on July 22, 1957 in Abilene to Paul Sr. and Felipa Martinez. Upon graduating from high school, Paul served his country in the U.S. Navy for six years. He was employed by the Abilene Civic Center for nearly 30 years setting up events and then as the Event Coordinator prior to retiring in 2014. Preceding him in death were his first wife Gail Martinez, his daughter Angel Martinez, his father, Paul Martinez, Sr.; and his second wife, Theresa Martinez. Survivors include his mother, Felipa Martinez; step sons, Raymond Olveda, Hondo Savala, and Ray Hanusch; step daughter, Yolanda Valencia; brother, Richard Martinez and wife, Sylvia; sister, Debbie McCoy and husband, Pat; and grandchildren, Jaela Brazeal, Lilian Mallard, and Isabell, and numerous nephews and nieces.
