Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 17, 2012, at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene, with Jennifer and Kerry Bashaw and Jonathan Garcia officiating. Burial will follow in City Cemetery in Sweetwater, Texas, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Ollie Henry Wilson was born on January 26, 1927 in Roscoe, Texas. His parents were Ollie Monroe Wilson and Dora Taylor Wilson. Henry Wilson served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946 aboard the USS Lexington. He married Billye Charlene Neatherlin on August 27th, 1947 in Sweetwater, Texas. They moved to Abilene in 1949 and he joined the Abilene Fire Department in 1956, serving for 21 years until his retirement as a Lieutenant in 1977. He then worked for Clayton Chemical Company and Abilene Building Maintenance until his full retirement in 1997. He was a member, song leader and church clerk/elder of the Southside Church Of God at 2626 Barrow. Henry was a devout Christian his entire life.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Woodrow, Monroe, A.D., and Dolphard Wilson.
Henry is survived by his wife, Billye Charlene Wilson; daughter, Doneva Ann Garcia; and son, Bradford Tommy Wilson and his wife, Patricia Dianne Wilson. He has seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
