Helon was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She leaves behind a legacy of commitment, love, peace & joy. She loved serving her community and it showed her work, church, and personal life. Helon devoted her life to serving as a missionary, a part of Eastern Stars, and was a troop leader for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. During her work career in Abilene, Helon worked at the West Texas Medical Center, and devoted 10 years at the Abilene Police Department as a dispatcher. After retirement she devoted herself to working in the Food Pantry of her Church. She was an amazing woman who wore many hats in her life.
A piece of Helon will live on in all of us that were fortunate to know and love her. Her passion for kindness and love is one that will always be remembered and one that has been passed on to her legacies. She always saw the good in everyone and loved with her heart and soul. Her love for Jesus showed through like a guiding light to anyone and everyone. Her nurturing and caring ways, her love for nature, animals, and all humankind. She was an inspiration also. Helon was a strong & fierce but loving person. Her ability to overcome the many obstacles that she traveled while she was on earth with us in flesh and blood is an inspiration to us all.
