Martha Marie Brown

Martha Marie Brown, 91, of Abilene, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory Street, with burial following in Cottonwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday evening from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home.

Martha was born on April 13, 1926 in Cross Plains to Thomas and Jewel Woody. She was a great cook and loved gospel and country music. She was also a member of the S. 11th & Willis Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Brown; and sisters, Clara Mae Cowan and Alice Lee Clark.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby McMillan and wife Lavaughn and Pete Barbar and wife Marilyn; grandchildren, Carmen Baidas, Michael McMillan, Scott Barbar, and Matt Barbar; and five great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Christian Service Center.
