Long-time Abilene resident Marjorie Mae Lovelady passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2024. She was born on March 25, 1918, in Abilene, Texas, to Earl M. and Esther (McKee) Northrup. She married Cecil Leon Lovelady on April 9, 1938.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her nine siblings and their spouses, husband Cecil, eldest son Cecil Jerome (Jerry) and his wife Wanda (Johnson), and sons-in-law Chester Kuchno and Clark Thurman.
Marjorie is survived by her children, who are all now living in Abilene: Sallie Mae Manning and husband John, Truman Leon Lovelady, Joyce Thurman, Mary Lois Kuchno, and Emmet Lee Lovelady and wife Tonia. Also, she is survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Marjorie requested to be cremated and have a private memorial gathering.
