Machelle Colleen Durden, 58, of Hawley, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024 in Abilene. She was born on June 18, 1965 in Abilene to the late Dempsey Phillips and Ida Mae McClure Collum. On May 19, 1995 she married Allan Durden in Merkel, TX.
She is survived by her husband, Allan Durden of Hawley; children Cherree Turner of Albany, Joshua Griggs of Abilene, Angela Durden of Mesquite, Danielle Tutza of Rockwall, and Amber Bruton of Gatesville; 14 grandchildren; sister Tresia Thrift; brothers Dennis Phillips and Danny Phillips; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as two great-grandchildren on the way.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 US Hwy 277 South in Abilene. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM.
