Lupe R. Munoz, 72, of Abilene, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013. Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 1st, followed by a visitation from 7-8 p.m. at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 2nd, 2013 at St. Francis Catholic Church, with Father Bhaskar Morugudi officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
Lupe was born April 18, 1941, in Kenedy, Texas, the daughter of the late Carlos Rodriguez and Josefa Salinas Rodriguez, and sister of the late Johnny Rodriguez. Lupe graduated from Abilene High School in 1962 and held a few seamstress jobs before retiring from Texas Instruments as a QC. She loved to cook and passed that on to her children. She enjoyed garage sales and antiquing on the weekends.
Survivors include her children; daughter, Debra Patrick, and two sons, Frank Martinez and Phillip Munoz; siblings Florinda Sigala, Eusevia Henderson, Raymond Rodriguez, and Amparo Simmons; seven grandchildren, Tabitha, Timothy, Arieanne, Matteo, Savannah, Rome and Jade; and seven great-grandchildren, Marianna, Lita, Dominik, Adam, Estrella, Anastasia and Alyssia; she also had several nieces and nephews.
