Larry Joe Abbe

Larry Joe Abbe, 37, passed away the morning of Sunday, July 24, 2016 in Abilene, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. Abilene TX. Committal service with military honors will be at 2:00 PM int Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Rd, Abilene, TX 79601.

Larry Joe was known by many different names, Jo-Jo, LJ, Doe-Doe, and Daddy but most of all, “Momma’s Boy”. He was extremely proud to serve his country in both The United States Marine Corp, 1st Marine Division, and the United States Army, 1st Calvary 3rd brigade. He served one tour overseas while in the Marine Corp and two tours in Iraq while with the Army; but nothing compared to the pride he had for his three beautiful children.

Preceded in death by his grandparents, Margret and Walter ”Fats” Abbe and Billy Wayne Teague and other cherished family members.

Larry Joe is survived by his two daughters, Destiny and Hailey; and one son Caleb; and their mother and close friend, Rebecca Abbe; his parents, Brenda and Larry A. Abbe; siblings and spouses, Jennifer and Robert Snelson, Treyson and Mary Abbe, and Les Lunsford; his grandmother, Nell Grant, and three beloved nieces Audrey, Madison, and Brookelynn, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home.
