Kenneth Wayne Johnson, 80, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at his home in Abilene, TX. A visitation will be held at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Friday, June 19, 2015 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Donny Harbers, pastor of Wylie Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Abilene Municipal Cemetery Cedar Hill section.
Wayne worked in the oil field all his life and was manager of ANACO Gas for 30 years. He was a man of integrity and honor. He loved his family and friends. He was an avid golfer who started as a caddy at the Abilene Country Club at an early age. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his son, grandchildren, and brothers.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Billie Blankenship Johnson; and grandson, Clayton Dowlin Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hulen Johnson and Carl Johnson of Abilene; and sisters, Lois Price of Abilene and Helen Harris of Dallas, GA. He is survived by his daughters, Jenette and Annette Johnson; a son, Mickey Johnson; grandson, Kenny Johnson all of Abilene; one brother, James Wiley “Hooky” Johnson and wife, Linda of Buffalo Gap, TX; his sister, Tommie Loree Rowland and husband, Jack of Kennesaw, GA; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
