She was born on September 26, 1932 in Rule, Texas, to the late Ruby Pearl Hines Lee and the late Carl Chancellor Lee. She graduated from LVN School in 1956. She was a LVN at Hendrick Medical Center until retiring in 2014. Martha "JO" was married to the late Glenn Brock.
She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Lee, Lloyd Lee and Albert (who died in infancy); and sisters, Dessa Mae Jeter and Christine Morgan.
Martha "JO" is survived by her daughters, Deborah Puryear and Roy, Linda Fisher, Jerri Morales and Bobby, Tammy Baker Walker and Troy, and Traci Beeman Walker and Rickey; grandchildren, Cynthia Ramos, Michael Ramos, Amy Ramos, Eric Lee Fisher, Aaron Fisher, Kimberley Beeman, Jake Beeman, and Brock Baker; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a special niece, Pat Koch; and sister-in-law, Letha Lee of Arkansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Some of "JO"'s hobbies were reading books, quilting, and basketball's March Madness. She grew up playing basketball and was a lifelong fan. She was the ULTIMATE DALLAS COWBOYS fan.
In lieu of flowers, donations made in Martha "JO"'s name may be made to Hendricks Hospice Care, Ben Richey Boys Ranch, and Alzheimer's Association are welcome and appreciated.
Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 6 to 8pm at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, located at 542 Hickory St. in Abilene. A graveside service will take place at the Clyde Cemetery, officiated Les Mims, On Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 2pm.
