Jesse Johnson passed on to be with the Lord on October 13, 2011. Jesse was born in St. Helena, California, on January 29, 1965. He was raised in Abilene, TX and graduated from Abilene High School. He worked with the Dyess Mess Hall and the cookie factory for many years before staying with Mrs. Baird's Bakery until the company closed.
He never met a stranger, as he was very friendly. He had a love for all things automotive and for fixing things. He was an extremely loving father, son and brother and would lend a helping hand to anyone. He was a devout Baptist and was an avid member of Elmcrest Baptist Church.
Jesse is survived by his "big kids" Curtis Johns and Brittany Wilbur of Abilene; brother, Samuel Johnson and nephew Clay Johnson of Tye, TX. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, William "Red" Johnson and mother, Margaret "Peggy" Johnson; and brother, Travis Johnson.
Memorial services for both Jesse and Peggy at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 21, 2011, with Pastor Jason Gray officiating under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory.
